Most knowledge work still depends on small, brittle handoffs: copy a number from a PDF, rename a batch of files, collect research from the web, update a spreadsheet, send a summary, and then do the same thing again tomorrow.
Nomus is built for that layer of work. It gives your Mac a command center where you can describe a workflow in plain English, run it against the apps and files already on your machine, and keep the process repeatable.
Why we are building it
General-purpose AI tools are good at answering questions, but work often happens across windows, files, and accounts. The hard part is not a single response. The hard part is moving through the full chain without losing context or forcing you to supervise every click.
Nomus starts from a different assumption: the computer should help with the messy connective tissue around the work, while you stay in control of the goal, review points, and final output.
What Nomus focuses on
The first version is centered on common desk-work patterns:
- Extracting structured details from PDFs, emails, and notes.
- Organizing files and folders from rules you can understand.
- Researching websites and collecting the useful parts into a clear brief.
- Turning recurring workflows into reusable instructions.
The product is intentionally native to macOS because so much of this work lives outside the browser. Local context matters: your files, windows, folders, and the way you already move through the day.
A quieter kind of automation
We are not trying to replace judgment with a black box. Nomus should make the boring parts easier to delegate, inspect, and repeat. A good workflow should feel legible: you know what it will touch, why it is asking for approval, and where the result will land.
That is the standard we are building toward: automation that is powerful enough to save time, but calm enough to trust.
What comes next
We are opening Nomus gradually as we refine the core workflow model, desktop handoff, and billing system. If you want early access, join the waitlist from the homepage. We will share more notes here as the product takes shape.
